GetPDF

PDF files are used by more and more people and are becoming more popular each day, compared to other document formats, like DOC or RTF. That's because PDF files can contain various media elements, they are smaller in size than DOC files and they cannot be modified using regular text editors. But a small problem arises when creating PDF files. The first application that might pass through your mind is Adobe Acrobat, but this PDF creation software takes a lot of system resources, it's expensive and also requires a lot of time to be fully mastered. Instead, you could use GetPDF to generate PDF files.

This software works by installing a virtual printer into the operating system, which you can use to generate PDF documents from virtually any application that supports printing. For example, you can use your favorite text editor to generate PDF files. After the program is installed, it will place an icon on the desktop. By accessing the icon, you will be presented with a small interface, in which you can activate or deactivate the PDF printer and also set it as the default Windows printer. Moreover, using the buttons presented in the interface, you can print a test page, just to test the functionality of the PDF printer. What's more, you can configure PDF printing settings and configure quality settings. You can even protect generated PDF documents with two types of passwords, for preventing them from being opened or printed by unauthorized people.

Having configured all the quality settings, you just need to launch your desired text editor or any other application that supports printing and just select the GetPDF printer. At this point, a dialog box will be opened, allowing you to add a name and saving location for the newly generated PDF file.
